Polk County, Fla. (July 1, 2009) – On Monday, July 6, Polk County will begin widening Berkley Road (CR 655) from Old Dixie Highway to Pace Road in Auburndale. Construction should be completed by fall 2010.
Work includes expanding existing two-lane roadway to four lanes with paved shoulders and sidewalks on both sides. The road will remain open, but motorists can expect delays, traffic shifts and lane closures during construction. Drivers should use caution and add extra time to trips through work area.
