POLK COUNTY, Fla. (August 5, 2009) – Improvements to the Tiger Road/Country Club Road and Walnut Street intersection in Poinciana will begin Monday August 10. Improvements will accommodate increased traffic and enhance safety.
Polk County will upgrade the intersection by adding a westbound right turn lane at Walnut Street onto northbound Country Club Road and a southbound left turn lane at Country Club Road onto eastbound Walnut Street. Work includes road widening, milling and resurfacing, utility relocations, drainage improvements, as well as new striping, signs and traffic signals.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on all approaches during construction with lane shifts expected on southbound Country Club Road and westbound Walnut Street. Motorists are encouraged to use caution in work zone and expect delays.
