Bartow, FL (October 16, 2009) –Dress like a local Hero this year! Polk County Fire Rescue will be participating in the 13th Annual Haunted Halloween Hayride and Happenings—a safe alternative to trick or treating, sponsored in part by the Polk County Parks and Natural Resources Division.
Visit the Family Safety House where the first 500 children dressed like one of today’s heroes (firefighter, paramedic, EMT, Law Enforcement officer or military personnel) will receive a FREE gift! Walk through the house, learn how to create a family escape plan, and what number to call in case of an emergency.
This family event will take place on October 24, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Loyce E. Harpe Park located at 500 West Carter Road in Mulberry. Admission is $5 per person (children two and younger are free with a paid adult). Admission includes: carnival games, prizes, a costume and pie eating contest, inflatable games, a trick or treat village, a haunted house, live entertainment, popcorn, sno-cones, and a spooky hayride through the woods!
Come prepared to have a “horrific” time! Beat the crowd and purchase your tickets in advance at the Parks and Recreation office (515 East Boulevard Street, Bartow).
