Polk County (November 3, 2009) – Improvements to the Yates Road at Ewell Road intersection in southwest Lakeland will begin on Monday, November 9. Improvements will relieve congestion and enhance safety.
Work includes adding right-turn lanes at Ewell Road and Yates Road, and adding a left-turn lane at Ewell Road. Ewell Road will be repaved from about 200-feet west of the Carla Road/Nelms Road West intersection to approximately 100-feet east of Nelms Road East. Construction includes drainage improvements and a new traffic signal.
Traffic will be maintained during construction, but drivers should use caution and plan additional time to travel through the work zone.
