Lake Garfield Boat Ramp Closed Until Further Notice.

Posted: Tuesday, November 03, 2009

Polk County (November 3, 2009) – Due to severe damage, Polk County’s Parks and Natural Resources Division closed the Lake Garfield Boat Ramp immediately.

Damage caused by excessive power loading created a large void underneath and at the end of the ramp. Caved-in concrete prohibits a safe and navigable launch.

The ramp, located off CR 655A/Alturas Road North, in Alturas, will be closed until further notice.
