Here’s to Your Health Hike

Location: Circle B Bar Reserve — 4399 Winter Lake Rd., Lakeland, FL 33803

Commissioner George Lindsey will be leading the annual Here’s to Your Health Hike at Circle B Bar Reserve. The walk will start on the boardwalk in front of Polk’s Nature Discovery Center. This free nature walk will follow the 2.5-mile Alligator Alley loop. Staff and volunteers will be at information stations along the way to share their knowledge and answer questions.

Participants will explore the oak hammock, lake and marsh habitats during the walk. They will learn about the history of the area and why Circle B Bar Reserve was acquired. This is an excellent chance to see the plants and animals that live on the Reserve, including the migratory birds that spend the winter here.

Participants will travel on foot, so please wear sturdy, close-toed shoes and dress for the day’s weather. It is also recommended to bring water, binoculars and sun protection. Everyone can walk at their own pace.

Registration is not required.
