The Conservation Land Acquisition Selection Advisory Committee (CLASAC) provides recommendations for sites nominated to be acquired through the Environmental Lands Program. The lay board assists the County Commission in determining the acquisition of land in accordance with Ordinance No. 22-050.

There are no regularly-scheduled meetings of the CLASAC. It meets to discuss nominated sites as deemed necessary when land nominations are ready to be evaluated. Meetings are held in the County Commission Boardroom in the County Administration Building, 330 W. Church St. in Bartow, unless otherwise specified

Board Members

The CLASAC shall consist of eleven members; one commissioner appointed by the chairman of the Board and 10 other members with each Board member appointing two committee members. Voting membership should consist of representative members associated with water resource management, public land management, land use planning and/or education, environmental groups, agriculture communities, sportsman’s groups, local outdoor recreations groups or have public land management experience.
