Rick Wilson

Commissioner WilsonCommissioner Rick Wilson is a Polk County native and second generation business owner and rancher.

Wilson was first elected to the Board to serve as a Polk County commissioner in 2018 with a focus on Polk County’s future. He was re-elected to a second term in November 2022. Wilson is committed to making the county’s public transportation network stronger through transportation planning. His priorities while in office include helping to create meaningful job opportunities for Polk’s residents and preserving the county’s natural resources and environmental lands.

Wilson attended school in Polk County before pursuing a racing career that included 13 years as a NASCAR driver. Following his retirement from racing, Wilson returned to work on his family’s ranch and in the heavy equipment business his family began in the 1940s. Wilson is a member of the Polk County Cattleman’s Association, Florida Cattleman’s Association and Rotary International.
