Bartow, Fla. (Feb. 9, 2024) — CSX Transportation (CSXT) will consecutively close several rural Fort Meade and Mulberry area roads next week for two to five days each to upgrade track crossings running along their “Achan” line. County Road 630 in Fort Meade is closing at the rail crossing just west of Duke Energy’s Tiger Bay plant starting Monday, February 12, followed by the closing of the adjoining County Road 555 and Agricola Road crossings east of Hookers Prairie Mine Road and south of Hines Boulevard on Tuesday, February 13.
On Thursday, February 15, in the Bradley Junction area south of Mulberry, CSXT is scheduled to close Agricola Road at the rail crossing just west of Hookers Prairie Mine Road. Additional crossing repair closings will advance to Old Highway 37 just south of the intersection at Agricola Road and Cain Street south of Merle Street.
Some detours will be lengthy and travel delays can be expected. Commuters should drive carefully, be alert to detour signs, and add extra time to trips through these areas.
Anyone wanting to report a public road rail crossing issue or complaint should call CSX at 1-800-232-0144 or email them at TellCSX@csx.com.
