Polk County’s Waste and Recycling Division will host a hiring event for heavy equipment operators. This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus as well as all regular Polk County benefits. Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience of progressive job responsibilities working at a landfill and seven years of direct, first-class experience in constructing landfill cells and slopes utilizing a landfill compactor and/or landfill dozer. The pay for the position ranges from $23.71 to $34.38 per hour.
A representative from Polk County’s recruitment team will be available at the event to conduct on-the-spot interviews and to assist candidates with the application process. Candidates are encouraged to bring at least three copies of their resume or CV in case of an interview. The ability to communicate in English is a requirement for all Polk County positions.
