Polk County's buildings don't just take care of themselves. That's the job of Polk's Facilities Management Division.
Facilities Management is divided into two programs, the Building Maintenance program and Architectural Services program.
The Building Maintenance Program oversees:
- Maintenance and repairs for county-owned buildings
- Custodial services
- Utilities within county buildings
- Contracts for preventive maintenance
- Fire alarm repair, monitoring, fire extinguisher inspections
- Pest control
- Elevator maintenance
- Grounds maintenance
This program also conducts damage assessments of county facilities after an emergency event.
The Architectural Services program plans, coordinates and manages the design and construction of all
construction projects for the county and Constitutional Officers. These projects can include facility additions,
renovations, alterations and new construction. This division also negotiates all leases on behalf of the Board.
