Johnson Avenue at Power Line Road Opening Delayed Another Two Weeks
Published on Oct 9, 2020
Bartow, Fla. (October 8, 2020) — The scheduled Oct. 9 opening of Johnson Avenue (County Road 580) at the Power Line Road intersection in Haines City has been postponed until Friday, Oct. 23. Heavy rains have repeatedly flooded the work zone, halting muck removal and delaying drainage installations needed to build the new eastbound right turn lane on Johnson Avenue. Recent drier weather has allowed work to resume uninterrupted and conditions are favorable for crews to finish without further delays.
Westbound traffic will continue to detour at Power Line Road south to Hinson Avenue or north to Baker Dairy Road to bypass work zone. Eastbound traffic along Johnson Avenue should detour at 30th Street to avoid closure at Power Line Road.
