Deen Still Road West of Hickman Road Remains Closed

Published on Jan 8, 2021

Bartow, Fla. (January 7, 2021) — Emergency repairs underway to replace a failing bridge beam will keep Deen Still Road just west of Hickman Road near Polk City closed until late next week. Delivery of specialty materials required to install a new beam have slowed work needed to safely resume bridge traffic. Eastbound traffic along Deen Still Road east of State Road 33 will continue to detour onto Old Grade Road. Westbound traffic east of Hickman Road will still bypass the work zone along U.S. Highway 27. Lengthy detour routes will create travel delays. Motorists should drive with caution, be alert to detour signs and add extra time to trips through area.

Updates will be made available when more information is known. Contact Bill Skelton with the Polk County Roads & Drainage Division at 863-535-2200 for further details.
