Bartow, Fla. (Aug. 1, 2024) — Already closed for two months for offsite construction of a new residential subdivision, FDC Grove Road from Holly Hill Tank Road to Sand Hill Road in Davenport will stay closed through September 19. Extended closure is related to engineering changes requiring a work stoppage. Starting Monday, August 5, the contractor will restart road widening and rebuilding of a new road section. Traffic will continue to detour during completion of work. Depending on direction of travel, traffic will be briefly detoured along Holly Hill Tank Road or Sand Hill Road to US Hwy. 27 to bypass work zone. Minor travel delays are expected, especially during peak-hour traffic. Commuters are advised to drive carefully and add time to trips through this area.
