Lake Hancock Boat Ramp Reopens Nov. 7

Published: November 6, 2024

Bartow, Fla. (Nov. 6, 2024) –Polk County will reopen the Lake Hancock boat ramp at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7.

The ramp, located off U.S. Highway 98, was closed on Oct. 8 due to high water flows created by Hurricane Milton, which caused unsafe conditions for boaters.

Currently, Lake Hancock’s water levels have subsided enough to allow for safe boating. Water levels and conditions will continue to be monitored. The boat ramp may be closed again if there is significant rain in the areas that drain to Lake Hancock.
