New Affordable Housing Developments Announced

Bartow, FL (Nov. 9, 2020) Construction will soon begin on four affordable homes in Lakeland and Davenport. The project was approved last week by the Polk County Board of County Commissioners.
The project will use funds from the State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program. Domain Homes, Inc. has been selected to build two, three-bedroom homes in Davenport; and two, two-bedroom homes in Lakeland. Each house will then be sold to an eligible buyer.
“We are proud to support these four new construction homes in Polk County,” said Tamara West, manager of Housing and Neighborhood Development. “These houses will create new opportunities for families and individuals struggling to afford housing in Polk County.”
The four houses are expected to be completed by July 2021. The homes will be available to persons or families who have obtained a first-time homebuyer counseling certificate within the past 12 months. Eligibility is also based on a low or moderate income classification for the buyer. Keystone Challenge Fund, located in Lakeland, will assist with down payment and closing costs on these properties.
The two, three-bedroom houses will be built on Fuller Street in Davenport. The two two-bedroom houses will be built on Annette Street in Lakeland.
