Two Auburndale Railroad Crossings Remain Closed Until Wednesday
Published on May 7, 2021
Bartow, Fla. (May 7, 2021) —CSX Transportation repairs that closed three railroad crossings in Auburndale this week continue at two of the crossings. While the McKean Street crossing has reopened, the Ariana Avenue and Derby Avenue crossings remain closed until Wednesday. Both crossings are located in the rail freight area near the Cutrale juice plant and neighboring facilities between U.S. 92 (Magnolia Avenue) and Recker Highway. Traffic will still detour to bypass crossings. Motorists may experience minor congestion delays during peak-hour travel times. Commuters are advised to drive with caution, be alert to stopped truck traffic, and to add extra time to trips through this area.
Polk County regrets any traffic disruption motorists will face from these closures, but recognizes rail repairs are necessary and will make for better and safer driving conditions when completed. To report a rail crossing issue or complaint, contact CSX at (877) 835-5279 or TellCSX@csx.com.
