Board Room Renovation Begins
Published on Aug 18, 2021
Bartow, Fla. (August 18, 2021) – Polk County’s Board of County Commissioners board room is getting a facelift.
Construction on the weeks-long renovation project kicked off Aug. 17 following the final board meeting of the month. Already, crews are pulling out seating and cabling to make way for new and upgraded features for the public.
The renovation project will include new paint, carpet, seating, ceiling tiles, paneling, electronics and lighting for television broadcasts. The board room hasn’t been renovated since it was built in 1989.
The board room will be closed to the public until the next Board meeting, scheduled for Sept. 7 at 9 a.m. All meetings scheduled during this timeframe have been moved to alternate locations.
