Northeast Regional Park Expansion Underway

Published on Sep 23, 2021

Construction of a new baseball complex that will feature four college-sized fields at Northeast Regional Park is well underway.

The project includes the building of four new baseball fields, a building with restrooms, showers, locker rooms and concession areas.

The expansion of the park has been needed for some time to accommodate the expanding population in that area of the county. The demand on public park facilities is growing and the county is working to meet that demand.

The 83-acre park includes six soccer/football fields, a concession stand, playground, tennis courts, racquetball courts, basketball courts, a boat ramp, special events pavilion, picnic facilities, an exercise trail and a newly relocated dog park.

The dog park was recently moved to accommodate the new construction for the expansion. The park is divided into two sections, one for small dogs and a second for larger dogs. Both are fenced in and have dog water fountains, training ramps, tunnels to run through and plenty of open space.

Construction is expected to continue through March 2022, but the other fields and amenities remain open for public use.

The park is located at 50901 U.S. 27 in Davenport.
