Rail Replacement Project to Close Old Tampa Highway for 11 Days
Published on Jan 5, 2022
Bartow, Fla. (January 5, 2021) — A project to remove and replace the railroad crossing at a spur servicing the Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits warehouse will close Old Tampa Highway in Lakeland for 11 days starting Monday, January 10. Through-traffic will be detoured at Airport Road and Clark Road to bypass the work zone and road closure. U.S. Highway 92 should be considered an alternate route to avoid closure delays. Detour routing should be brief, but commuters are advised to drive carefully, be alert to detour signs, and to add extra time to trips through the area. Especially, during the morning and evening peak traffic hours.
