Trail closures announced at Marshall Hampton Reserve

Published on Apr 11, 2022

While Panther Point Trail will remain open, the remaining trails at Marshall Hampton Reserve will be inaccessible while construction crews work on the area around the former borrow pit.

Construction begins today and is expected to conclude by mid-June. During that time, the Southwest Florida Water Management District will construct a spillway at the former Hampton Borrow Pit. A spillway conveys water out of the lake during high rainfall events.

For information about the construction, contact Jeff Hagberg at (352) 796-7211 ext. 4578 or at jeff.hagberg@watermatters.org. For recreation questions at Marshall Hampton Preserve, call Tabitha Biehl at (863) 534-7377.
