Old Kissimmee Road Closing Friday for One Day

Published on May 31, 2022

Bartow, Fla. (May 31, 2022) — On Friday, June 3, Old Kissimmee Road just north of County Road 54 (Ronald Reagan Parkway) will close for 24 hours to install a sewer service to the new Mater Academy Charter School being constructed in the Davenport-Loughman area of northeast Polk County. Installation requires trenching across Old Kissimmee Road, laying pipe, then placing a specialized backfill in trench before reopening road to traffic on Saturday. Traffic will detour along U.S. Highway 17-92 and Labor Camp Road to bypass work zone. While detour is short, minor delays are possible. Motorists are advised to travel safely, follow detour signs, and add a little extra drive time through this area.
