Published on Jun 9, 2022
Bartow, Fla. (June 9, 2022) — On Monday, June 13, Polk County will close the intersection of N. Galloway Road and Sleepy Hill Road for up to 60 days to construct a new roundabout. Depending on destination, westbound traffic on Sleepy Hill Road will detour north or south at Kathleen Road to bypass work zone, while eastbound traffic approaching intersection will divert northerly along Coogle Road. Northbound traffic along N. Galloway Road will detour at Knights Station Road and southbound traffic will be redirected to Kathleen Road or Mt. Tabor Road to avoid closure. Congestion and delays can be expected, especially during peak-hour traffic. Motorists are advised to travel safely and add drive time to trips through this area.
