Florida Gas Transmission Pipeline Testing to Close Richardson Road in Gordonville for Four Hours Early Wednesday Morning

Published on Jul 5, 2022

Bartow, Fla. (July 4, 2022) — In the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 6, Florida Gas Transmission Company (FGT) will hydrostatically test a 6-mile section of their 12-inch natural gas pipeline running from the Gordonville area in unincorporated Bartow to Lee Avenue in northwest Bartow. Testing requires closing Richardson Road in Gordonville from Griffin Road to Radford Road from midnight to 4:00 a.m.

Flaggers supported by law enforcement will control two-way traffic where required and emergency vehicles will be provided access at all times.

If the test does not pass, a second night of testing may be necessary. FGT is federally mandated to strength test their natural gas pipelines at regular time intervals to assess integrity and assure safety for the public.
