Bartow, Fla. (March 8, 2018) — A break in a major water line that provides service to most of the county’s East Bartow campus is interrupting some county services for the remainder of the day today (Thursday, March 8). According to the City of Bartow, repairs to the water line should be completed by late this afternoon.
Some elements of the following county facilities are closing early:
Fire Rescue Administration
Fleet Maintenance Administration
Indigent Health Care
Health and Human Services
County Employee Health Clinic
Other nonprofit agencies that have offices in the Frank B. Smith Building on Golfview Avenue, including the Department of Health, will also be closing. Divisions and offices that had appointments scheduled for this afternoon are working to reschedule citizens with appointments.
The Facilities Division is providing The Rohr Home with bottled water to ensure the health and safety of those patrons.
“The City of Bartow anticipates having the repairs completed today,” said Deputy County Manager Bill Beasley. “We are planning to have all of our facilities and offices open for business at their regularly scheduled starting times tomorrow (Friday).”
